LYGO Soundboard FX

Hundreds of broadcast, comedy and Foley sounds, cleared for reuse.

The Soundboard FX tab is a live effects board: two hundred pads would be a toy, so this one carries the whole library in fifteen categories and lets you find any of them with one search box. It is built for the same moment the rest of the studio is built for — you are on air, someone says something that needs a rimshot, and the rimshot has to be one click away. The board plays over the broadcast, not instead of it, and nothing about it needs an account, an install or an upload.

Every sound is a real file with a real duration, not a promise: radio imaging and censor bleeps, interface clicks and error buzzes, impacts and footsteps, sci-fi engines, digital glitches, RPG coins and level-ups, casino chips, music stings, spoken voice drops, animal recordings, crowd and referee whistles, comedy boings and slide whistles, alarms and sirens, weather beds and city machines. Ambience loops are marked with a loop control so rain or a drone can sit under a segment while you keep talking.

How to use the board

  1. Open the Soundboard FX tab. The library loads once and stays cached.
  2. Type to search — one word is enough: rain, coin, siren, whistle, laugh.
  3. Star the pads you use on every show. Favorites and recent sounds sit at the top of your own list, stored in your browser.
  4. Use the loop button for beds (rain, wind, drones, tick), and Stop all when the segment ends.
  5. Press / to jump to search from anywhere on the page.

Where every sound comes from

Three sources, all of them safe to publish. The largest block is the Kenney.nl audio packs — interface, UI, impacts, RPG, digital, sci-fi, casino, music jingles and the voiceover pack — released under Creative Commons Zero, which allows commercial use with no attribution required. The animal, crowd, weather, comedy-audience and machine recordings are public-domain or CC0 files from Wikimedia Commons, and the credit line for each one is listed with the file. The rest — censor bleeps, station pips, sirens, airhorns, risers, referee whistles, whooshes, the whole broadcast toolkit — was rendered for this board with ffmpeg, so it belongs to this project outright.

Nothing here is a clip from a film, a television show, a song, a sports broadcast or a streaming service. No sound is lifted from another site's player, and none of it requires a licence fee to use on this page. If you are a rights holder and believe one file was mislabelled by its upstream source, write to the contact address on the contact page and it gets removed the same day.

Soundboard questions

Do I need an account to use the soundboard?

No. The board is open, the sounds stream from this domain, and your favorites are kept in your own browser storage rather than on a server.

Can I download the sounds and use them in my own project?

The Kenney packs and the public-domain recordings can be reused under their own terms — those terms are printed with each file's credit. The original LYGO renders are for listening and for use inside this studio; ask first if you want them in a commercial release.

Why are there no celebrity impressions or sitcom clips?

Because they are somebody else's work, and this board is meant to stay online. Comedy here is built from instruments — boings, slide whistles, rimshots, buzzers, gongs — plus the cleared voiceover drops, which is enough to score a joke without borrowing a performance.

The board also feeds the rest of the studio: the same pads work while the two hosts are talking, while a caller is on the line, and while an episode is being written on the Studio Broadcast tab.
