LYGO Local — Terms & EULA
These terms govern the LYGO Local harness, installer, local browser console and related files (the “Software”), published by Justin Helmer / Excavationpro. By installing or using the Software you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
1. What the Software is
The Software is a local engine harness. It discovers loopback AI services, can request that an allowlisted local engine start, and provides a local browser console that relays your prompt to the engine you choose. It is not a hosted inference service, a model, a cloud API, or a guarantee that any engine will run on your hardware.
2. Licence to use
Subject to these terms, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Software on machines you control. You may inspect and build the source for your own use. You may not sell, rebrand, sublicense or redistribute the Software as a competing product without written permission, and you may not remove attribution or proprietary notices.
3. Your models and engines
Models, engines and model packs are separate works under their own licences. LYGO does not grant you rights to any model, and does not warrant that a model is lawful or suitable in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for downloading only models you are allowed to use, for complying with their licences, and for the disk, RAM, VRAM, power and time they consume.
4. Local compute and no service level
All inference runs on hardware you control. We do not provide compute, uptime, support response times, model availability, or a hosted endpoint. The Software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Software to break the law, infringe rights, distribute malware, or attack systems.
- Do not expose the local control server to the public internet or bind it to a non-loopback interface.
- Do not use it as an open proxy for other people’s prompts or to evade a provider’s terms.
- Do not misrepresent AI output as verified fact, professional advice, or a human statement.
- Do not remove safety notices or use the Software to conceal unlawful activity.
6. AI output
AI models can be confidently wrong, biased, incomplete or unsafe. Output is not medical, legal, financial, engineering or safety advice. You are the publisher of what you send and what you do with the answer, and you must verify anything that matters before relying on it.
7. Data and privacy
The Phase 1 harness keeps prompts local to the engine you select and does not send them to excavationpro.ca. The Software writes no chat history to disk. A future public portal pairing feature will be opt-in and will be described before it is enabled. See the LYGO Local privacy notice.
8. Updates and changes
We may publish new versions, change supported engines, or retire the Software. Public installers will be signed and accompanied by a SHA-256. We are not obligated to provide updates. These terms may be updated; the date at the top is the effective date of the published version.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Justin Helmer / Excavationpro is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of profits, hardware damage, model output, or any harm arising from use of the Software. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the Software, which for a free download is zero.
10. Termination
You may stop using and uninstall the Software at any time. We may suspend distribution or terminate this licence if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — including licences, disclaimers, liability limits and governing terms — survive termination.
11. Contact
Licensing and security: excavationpro.ca/contact.html. Security reports: security.txt.
This is a plain-language product agreement, not legal advice to you. If you need advice about your own jurisdiction, consult a lawyer.
